ISLAMABAD: A high-level Pakistani diplomatic delegation tasked with presenting the country\u2019s position on the recent military escalation with India is set to begin its international visits on June 2, PPP Senator Sherry Rehman announced on Wednesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The delegation, headed by PPP Chairman and former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, aims to engage key global capitals to explain Pakistan\u2019s perspective and seek support.<\/p>\n

Diplomatic Tour to Key Global Capitals<\/h3>\n

Senator Rehman shared details on DawnNewsTV\u2019s \u2018Doosra Rukh\u2019 program, stating that the committee will start its tour in New York, followed by stops in Washington, London, and Brussels.<\/p>\n

The delegation also includes senior figures such as former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar, Dr. Musadik Malik, Engineer Khurram Dastgir, Faisal Subzwari, Tehmina Janjua, Senator Bushra Anjum Butt, and Jalil Abbas Jilani.<\/p>\n

She emphasized that the delegation is preparing for substantive and quality meetings, with Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari underscoring that Pakistan is confident in its position and not rushed by the presence or actions of the Indian delegation.<\/p>\n

Concerns Over Regional Stability and Water Issues<\/h3>\n

Responding to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s recent remarks on the Indus Water Treaty, Senator Rehman criticized the statements as inflammatory, saying no responsible politician should make such claims.<\/p>\n

She warned that Modi\u2019s rhetoric is pushing the already volatile region towards a dangerous and \u201cnew abnormal,\u201d undermining prospects for peaceful negotiations.<\/p>\n

Senator Rehman also highlighted India\u2019s excessive groundwater mining, particularly from the Indus River Basin, which threatens Pakistan\u2019s water security and is unsustainable amid global climate challenges.<\/p>\n

These diplomatic efforts follow a tense military confrontation triggered by India\u2019s accusations against Pakistan over an attack in occupied Kashmir\u2019s Pahalgam, which Pakistan denies.<\/p>\n
