ISLAMABAD: Uzbekistan Airways is set to begin direct flights between Tashkent and Islamabad starting June 14, 2025, marking a significant step toward enhanced regional connectivity and cooperation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to a statement from the Uzbek Embassy in Islamabad, the flights will operate every Saturday and reflect the commitment of both Uzbekistan and Pakistan to strengthen bilateral relations and improve access across Central and South Asia.<\/p>\n

This new air route is part of a broader strategy to connect landlocked regions with key economic and cultural hubs.<\/p>\n

It complements existing biweekly Uzbekistan Airways flights to Lahore, currently operated on Wednesdays and Fridays.<\/p>\n

These connections are expected to support growing business activity, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.<\/p>\n

Boost for Regional Travel and Tourism<\/h3>\n

The embassy emphasized that this direct route will not only facilitate smoother travel for business professionals, officials, and students but will also serve as a bridge for religious and cultural tourism.<\/p>\n

Pakistani travelers can now easily explore Uzbekistan\u2019s historic Silk Road cities\u2014Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva\u2014while Uzbek visitors gain easier access to Pakistan\u2019s diverse and scenic landscapes.<\/p>\n

Tourist flows between the two countries have already been on the rise, and this new connection is expected to further accelerate that trend.<\/p>\n

The Tashkent-Islamabad flight is a key component of the Central and South Asia Connectivity Initiative proposed by Uzbekistan\u2019s President in 2021.<\/p>\n
