ISLAMABAD: Starbucks is introducing a generative AI assistant named \u201cGreen Dot Assist\u201d at select stores to enhance service speed and barista productivity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The AI tool is built on Microsoft Azure\u2019s OpenAI platform and aims to streamline in-store operations by providing instant answers to baristas\u2019 questions.<\/p>\n

With Green Dot Assist, baristas no longer need to consult manuals or intranet systems for drink recipes or equipment troubleshooting.<\/p>\n

They can interact with the assistant using a tablet via voice or typed queries in natural language, significantly cutting down response time.<\/p>\n

Next-Level Automation on the Horizon<\/strong><\/p>\n

The current version handles basic tasks, but Starbucks plans to expand its capabilities.<\/p>\n

Future versions will be able to generate IT support tickets and suggest shift replacements when team members call in sick.<\/p>\n

According to Starbucks Chief Technology Officer Deb Hall Lefevre, the goal is to simplify daily tasks and improve job satisfaction.<\/p>\n

This innovation is part of the company’s broader strategy to support its staff\u2014referred to as “partners”\u2014with smarter tools.<\/p>\n

Another key feature of Green Dot Assist is personalized order recommendations.<\/p>\n

It can remember repeat orders for loyal customers, offering a more tailored and faster ordering experience.<\/p>\n

The AI works in tandem with baristas, handling routine tasks so they can focus on meaningful customer interactions.<\/p>\n

Starbucks reports that even experienced staff are adapting quickly to the system, learning it within an hour due to its intuitive design.<\/p>\n
