ISLAMABAD: Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced a significant gas and condensate discovery from its Faakir-1 exploratory well in Khairpur, Sindh.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The well is located within the Bitrisim Exploration License area.<\/p>\n

OGDCL operates the well with a 95 percent stake, while Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL) holds the remaining 5 percent.<\/p>\n

Faakir-1 was drilled to a depth of 4,185 meters in the Sembar Formation and was spudded on December 31, 2024.<\/p>\n

Using in-house expertise and joint venture collaboration, two Drill Stem Tests (DSTs) were conducted in the Lower<\/p>\n

Goru Formation, focusing on Massive Sand and Basal Sand intervals.<\/p>\n

Test results showed a combined production capacity of 6.4 million standard cubic feet of gas per day and 55 barrels per day of condensate.<\/p>\n

The wellhead flowing pressures recorded were 450 psi for the first test and 850 psi for the second.<\/p>\n

This discovery marks an important breakthrough in the Bitrisim Exploration License area and extends the commercial potential of the block.<\/p>\n
