ISLAMABAD: The federal government is preparing to increase fixed charges on domestic gas bills starting July 1, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This move follows a decision by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet to keep gas prices stable for households while adjusting fixed charges to recover infrastructure costs.<\/p>\n

According to the Petroleum Division\u2019s approved proposal, the fixed charges for domestic consumers will see a significant rise.<\/p>\n

Details of the Fixed Charge Increase<\/strong><\/p>\n

Consumers previously paying Rs. 400 will now be charged Rs. 600 monthly.<\/p>\n

Those with a fixed charge of Rs. 1,000 will see it raised to Rs. 1,500.<\/p>\n

Similarly, consumers who were paying Rs. 2,000 will now pay Rs. 3,000 as fixed charges.<\/p>\n

Impact and Approval Process<\/strong><\/p>\n

The increase aims to help recover asset costs without raising per-unit gas prices for households.<\/p>\n

The new fixed charges will be implemented once the federal cabinet gives final approval to the ECC\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n
