islamabad:The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has launched a significant crackdown in the Kohistan corruption scandal, uncovering assets worth billions of rupees including luxury vehicles, gold, and cash.<\/p>\n
NAB has upgraded its inquiry into the Kohistan corruption scandal into a full-fledged investigation.<\/p>\n
New revelations in the case have exposed prominent names involved in the scandal.<\/p>\n
Contractor Muhammad Ayub has been arrested; during interrogation, deals with influential figures including Azam Swati have been uncovered.<\/p>\n
Assets worth 2.5 billion rupees have been recovered and frozen during the operation.<\/p>\n
More than 100 million rupees in cash, foreign currency, and 3 kilograms of gold have been seized.<\/p>\n
A total of 73 bank accounts have been frozen, from which 500 million rupees have been recovered.<\/p>\n
Seventy-seven luxury vehicles have been confiscated, including new models of Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Porsche, Lexus, Revo, Mark X, Land Cruiser, and Fortuner, with a total value exceeding 940 million rupees.<\/p>\n
NAB has also taken possession of 30 residential houses, 25 flats, 12 commercial plazas, 12 shops, and 4 farmhouses.<\/p>\n
The seized properties include penthouses and 175 kanals of agricultural land.<\/p>\n
In total, 109 properties have been seized across Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Abbottabad, and Mansehra.<\/p>\n
