Beijing : Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan\u2019s Chief of Army Staff, recently visited China on an official trip aimed at deepening the bilateral strategic and defense relationship between the two countries. The visit included high-level meetings with China\u2019s senior political and military officials, underscoring the enduring friendship and close cooperation between Islamabad and Beijing.<\/p>\n

In meetings with Vice President Han Zheng and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Field Marshal Munir discussed the latest developments in the regional and global political environment. Both sides emphasized the importance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and stressed the need for coordinated efforts to manage common geopolitical challenges. The dialogue reaffirmed mutual respect for sovereignty and a commitment to regional peace and stability.<\/p>\n

On the military front, the COAS met with top commanders of the People\u2019s Liberation Army (PLA), including General Zhang Youxia, Vice Chairman of China\u2019s Central Military Commission, General Chen Hui, Political Commissar of the PLA Army, and Lieutenant General Cai Zhai Jun, Chief of Staff of the PLA Army. The COAS was received with full military honors at the PLA Army Headquarters, symbolizing the strong camaraderie between the two armed forces.<\/p>\n

The talks focused on expanding defense cooperation through joint counterterrorism initiatives, military training, defense modernization programs, and efforts to improve operational coordination against hybrid and transnational threats. Chinese military leaders expressed strong confidence in Pakistan\u2019s role in regional peacebuilding and praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces.<\/p>\n

Field Marshal Munir expressed gratitude for China\u2019s continued support and pledged to further strengthen military ties across all sectors. The visit highlights the growing strategic alignment and shared commitment of both nations to foster lasting peace and security in South Asia.<\/p>\n
