Islamabad:<\/strong> Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed heartfelt thanks to the Chinese leadership for offering advanced agricultural training opportunities to Pakistani students. He called the initiative a shining example of the deep and time-tested friendship between Pakistan and China.<\/p>\n

Addressing a ceremony held in Islamabad for the departing students, the Prime Minister said the idea for this program was born during his visit to Shaanxi province, China, where he toured a leading agricultural university. Impressed by the quality of education, research facilities, and student engagement, he felt that Pakistani youth should benefit from similar exposure.<\/p>\n

Under this initiative, a total of 1,000 students<\/strong> will receive short-term training in agricultural sciences in China. So far, 300 have completed their training, 100 are currently in China, and another batch of 300 students is set to depart on August 24<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister noted that Pakistan\u2019s agriculture sector is facing serious challenges, including a sharp decline in cotton production.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must benefit from China\u2019s expertise in hybrid seed technology, livestock development, and agricultural innovation,\u201d he told the students.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He urged the students to act as ambassadors of Pakistan in China and to return equipped with knowledge that can uplift the country’s farming practices. PM Shehbaz emphasized that the students were selected purely on merit and encouraged them to lead with integrity and diligence.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we apply merit, honesty, and hard work across all sectors, I am confident that Pakistan can achieve its true potential in just a few years,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Highlighting the government\u2019s focus on inclusive development, the Prime Minister announced a 10% additional quota for students from Balochistan<\/strong>, aiming to provide equal opportunities for youth from underdeveloped regions.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the event, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan commended the Prime Minister’s vision and reaffirmed China\u2019s commitment to supporting Pakistan\u2019s development across multiple sectors.<\/p>\n
