The discussion focused on Pakistan&#8217;s economic situation, ongoing reform programs, and the impact of recent floods on the country\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"593\" data-end=\"1034\">Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated Pakistan\u2019s long-standing partnership with the IMF and acknowledged the improvement in this cooperation under Kristalina Georgieva\u2019s leadership. He expressed gratitude for the timely support extended to Pakistan through the <strong data-start=\"858\" data-end=\"899\">$3 billion Stand-By Arrangement (SBA)<\/strong> during FY2024, the <strong data-start=\"919\" data-end=\"962\">$7 billion Extended Fund Facility (EFF)<\/strong>, and the <strong data-start=\"972\" data-end=\"1034\">$1.4 billion Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1036\" data-end=\"1387\">The Prime Minister stated that Pakistan\u2019s economy is now on a more stable footing, with positive outcomes beginning to emerge from the government\u2019s <strong data-start=\"1184\" data-end=\"1218\">sustainable reform initiatives<\/strong>. However, he also stressed that the <strong data-start=\"1255\" data-end=\"1277\">devastating floods<\/strong> had adversely affected the economy and that this factor must be taken into consideration in future decisions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1389\" data-end=\"1760\">IMF Chief <strong data-start=\"1399\" data-end=\"1423\">Kristalina Georgieva<\/strong> expressed sympathy for the flood victims and emphasized the importance of accurately assessing the <strong data-start=\"1523\" data-end=\"1559\">humanitarian and economic losses<\/strong>.
