Under the new policy, the <strong data-start=\"380\" data-end=\"433\">H-1B work visa fee has been increased to $100,000<\/strong>, applicable to <strong data-start=\"449\" data-end=\"474\">new visa applications<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"477\" data-end=\"668\">According to U.S. officials, the new policy <strong data-start=\"521\" data-end=\"603\">will not affect individuals who already hold an H-1B visa or those renewing it<\/strong>, but <strong data-start=\"609\" data-end=\"667\">new applicants will be required to pay the revised fee<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"670\" data-end=\"976\">Experts say the <strong data-start=\"686\" data-end=\"706\">Indian IT sector<\/strong> will be the hardest hit, as it sends thousands of engineers and IT professionals to the U.S. every year. In <strong data-start=\"815\" data-end=\"823\">2024<\/strong>, India accounted for <strong data-start=\"845\" data-end=\"852\">71%<\/strong> of all issued H-1B visas, followed by <strong data-start=\"891\" data-end=\"909\">China at 11.7%<\/strong>, while <strong data-start=\"917\" data-end=\"947\">Pakistan held less than 1%<\/strong>, ranking <strong data-start=\"957\" data-end=\"975\">eighth overall<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"978\" data-end=\"1266\"><strong data-start=\"978\" data-end=\"1015\">Immigration attorney Naeem Sukhia<\/strong> stated that this policy will also affect Pakistan&#8217;s <strong data-start=\"1068\" data-end=\"1110\">IT, engineering, and education sectors<\/strong>, due to the <strong data-start=\"1123\" data-end=\"1168\">significant increase in sponsorship costs<\/strong>.
