He emphasized that <strong data-start=\"349\" data-end=\"411\">freedom of the press is a core priority for the government<\/strong>, and any form of aggression towards journalists cannot be tolerated.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"482\" data-end=\"826\">Speaking to the media, Talal Chaudhry clarified that during a protest, <strong data-start=\"553\" data-end=\"637\">a group of demonstrators became involved in a confrontation with police officers<\/strong>, and in the chaos, a few of them ran into the Press Club premises. He admitted that the police should not have followed them inside and described the action as <strong data-start=\"798\" data-end=\"825\">a result of misjudgment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"828\" data-end=\"1045\">\u201cThe police had no right to enter the Press Club, and I sincerely apologize to the journalists affected by this episode,\u201d he stated, adding that there was <strong data-start=\"983\" data-end=\"1044\">no intention by the authorities to target media personnel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1047\" data-end=\"1300\">Taking swift action, the Minister ordered the <strong data-start=\"1093\" data-end=\"1134\">Inspector General of Islamabad Police<\/strong> to initiate a strict inquiry and take disciplinary measures against the officers involved.
