Their research laid the foundation for quantum computing, quantum cryptography, and highly sensitive scientific instruments.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"605\" data-end=\"772\">These experiments were carried out in the 1980s using superconducting electrical circuits, which for the first time enabled large-scale observation of quantum effects.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"774\" data-end=\"972\">John Clark, a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, expressed his happiness upon receiving the award, saying, \u201cThis is the technology behind devices we use today, like mobile phones.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"974\" data-end=\"1167\">Michel Doret, born in France, is currently affiliated with Yale and the University of California, USA.
