Islamabad : Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday unveiled a three-year electricity relief plan designed to assist Pakistan’s industrial and agricultural sectors. The ‘Roshan Maeeshat Power Package’ will provide a reduced electricity rate of Rs22.98 per unit for these sectors, effective from November 2025 until October 2028.<\/p>\n

Under this new initiative, the current electricity rates\u2014Rs34 per unit for industries and Rs38 per unit for agriculture\u2014will be reduced to a uniform rate of Rs22.98 per unit.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister clarified that the cost of this subsidy would not be passed on to domestic consumers or other segments of society.<\/p>\n

He commended Power Minister Sardar Awais Leghari and his team for formulating the plan, stressing that revitalizing industry and agriculture is essential for economic growth and job creation. PM Shehbaz also pointed out that the government is working to make these sectors more competitive in the regional market and to provide greater ease for businesses.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister referred to the success of last year\u2019s winter package, which saw a significant increase in electricity consumption by the industrial and agricultural sectors\u2014resulting in higher production, exports, and job creation.<\/p>\n

Acknowledging the difficult road from economic challenges to recovery, PM Shehbaz credited the government’s economic team and business leaders for their cooperation in achieving progress. He emphasized that strengthening these sectors would ultimately reduce Pakistan’s debt burden and lead the nation toward long-term stability and prosperity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
