Islamabad: The ongoing negotiations between Pakistan and Afghanistan in Istanbul have reached an impasse, with no breakthrough on key issues, particularly regarding cross-border terrorism.<\/p>\n

Pakistan’s Information Minister, Attaullah Tarar, confirmed that while discussions are still underway, substantial progress has not been achieved. During a press briefing in Islamabad, he acknowledged the efforts of Qatar and Turkey in mediating the dialogue but emphasized that critical matters, especially border security and terrorism, remain unresolved.<\/p>\n

The Information Minister reiterated Pakistan’s firm stance on the issue, stressing that Afghanistan holds primary responsibility for controlling terrorist activities emanating from its soil. He pointed out that the Afghan Taliban has failed to fully implement the terms of the Doha Agreement, particularly with regard to combating terrorism and ensuring regional security.<\/p>\n

\u201cPakistan’s position remains unchanged: Afghanistan must take immediate and effective action against the militant groups operating within its borders,\u201d Tarar stated. He added that Pakistan cannot afford to compromise on its national security and will continue to demand stronger measures to prevent cross-border attacks.<\/p>\n

Despite the deadlock, Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to regional peace but made it clear that progress in relations depends on Afghanistan\u2019s willingness to fulfill its promises under the Doha Agreement, particularly in addressing the growing threat of terrorism.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
