Islamabad<\/strong> : On Wednesday, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi<\/strong> announced the formation of a specialized protection unit in Islamabad aimed at ensuring the safety of Chinese nationals residing in Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Minister Naqvi made this declaration during his visit to China\u2019s Ministry of Public Security headquarters, where he was warmly received by Chinese Interior Minister Wang Xiaohong<\/strong> and other senior Chinese officials.<\/p>\n

According to an official statement from Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior, the two ministers held an in-depth conversation that lasted more than three hours, covering a wide range of topics, including bilateral relations, counterterrorism cooperation, police training exchanges, and matters of mutual interest.<\/p>\n

Both sides underscored the need to enhance institutional frameworks and strengthen operational cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n

It was confirmed that Pakistan and China have agreed to convene Joint Working Group meetings every three months, while the two interior ministers will meet annually to review progress. The two parties emphasized that increased coordination is essential for the success of their joint initiatives.<\/p>\n

Wang Xiaohong<\/strong>, the Chinese Interior Minister, commended Pakistan\u2019s security measures for protecting Chinese nationals and infrastructure projects in the country. He acknowledged Islamabad\u2019s steadfast commitment to internal security and counterterrorism efforts. Wang also expressed China\u2019s deep respect for Pakistan\u2019s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.<\/p>\n

The two countries agreed to improve rapid-response systems for addressing terrorism and crime and to expand the scope of police training and exchange programs.<\/p>\n

In addition, the discussions touched upon the cooperation between Islamabad and Beijing<\/strong> as sister cities. Both parties agreed to formulate a strategy to enhance the professional skills of security and police personnel, focusing on mutual capacity building.<\/p>\n

Minister Naqvi highlighted the importance of knowledge exchange and information-sharing through training initiatives.<\/p>\n

He briefed the Chinese delegation on Pakistan\u2019s enhanced security protocols for Chinese nationals, emphasizing that their safety is Pakistan’s \u201ctop priority.\u201d He also disclosed that a special protection unit<\/strong> is being set up in Islamabad to bolster their security further.<\/p>\n

Naqvi also welcomed China\u2019s collaboration in the fight against cybercrime and stressed Pakistan\u2019s eagerness to cooperate with Chinese authorities to strengthen the National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency (NCCIA)<\/strong>. He further pointed out the potential of China\u2019s AI-powered technologies<\/strong> in aiding Pakistan to combat emerging security challenges, asserting, \u201cPakistan and China share a bond that is unbreakable, and no force can come between us.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the visit, Naqvi invited Wang Xiaohong<\/strong> to visit Pakistan, extending heartfelt messages of goodwill from President Asif Ali Zardari<\/strong> and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif<\/strong> to the Chinese leadership.<\/p>\n

In response, Wang invited Naqvi to attend the Global Security Cooperation Forum<\/strong> scheduled for this September in China. He reaffirmed the strong strategic partnership between the two nations and expressed his satisfaction in hosting the Pakistani minister early in 2026. He also emphasized China\u2019s unwavering commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation at all levels. A luncheon was also organized in honor of the Pakistani delegation.<\/p>\n

The Chinese delegation was led by Vice Ministers Xu Datong<\/strong> and Yu Xiuhe<\/strong>, along with Beijing Deputy Mayor and Director General of the Beijing Public Security Bureau Cen Yuanbiao<\/strong>, DG General Office Guo Kan<\/strong>, DG Counterterrorism Department Gao Qiu<\/strong>, and DG International Cooperation Wang Yong<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
