{"id":7825,"date":"2026-03-11T17:08:25","date_gmt":"2026-03-11T12:08:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/youdigital.pk\/en\/?p=7825"},"modified":"2026-03-11T17:08:25","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T12:08:25","slug":"lahore-sialkot-motorway-to-be-upgraded-to-3-lanes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/youdigital.pk\/en\/2026\/03\/11\/lahore-sialkot-motorway-to-be-upgraded-to-3-lanes","title":{"rendered":"Lahore-Sialkot motorway to be upgraded to 3 lanes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"133\" data-end=\"444\"><strong data-start=\"133\" data-end=\"163\">Islamabad:<\/strong> The <strong data-start=\"168\" data-end=\"195\">Lahore-Sialkot Motorway<\/strong> will be expanded from a two-lane to a three-lane facility, following a decision made at a high-level <strong data-start=\"297\" data-end=\"333\">National Highway Authority (NHA)<\/strong> meeting chaired by Minister for Communications <strong data-start=\"381\" data-end=\"422\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Abdul Aleem Khan<\/span><\/span><\/strong> in Islamabad today.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"446\" data-end=\"626\">The meeting also issued directives to speed up construction on the <strong data-start=\"513\" data-end=\"532\">Sialkot-Kharian<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"537\" data-end=\"560\">Islamabad Motorways<\/strong>, which are set to be developed as three-lane dual carriageways.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"628\" data-end=\"887\">To enhance religious tourism, officials reviewed plans to connect <strong data-start=\"694\" data-end=\"707\">Kartarpur<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"712\" data-end=\"729\">Nankana Sahib<\/strong> directly to the motorway network. These new highways will feature three lanes and modern safety fencing to ensure secure and efficient travel for pilgrims.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"889\" data-end=\"1069\">Speaking at the meeting, Abdul Aleem Khan announced that all future motorway projects will be built with a minimum of three lanes on each side, totaling a six-lane configuration.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1071\" data-end=\"1436\">He further instructed the NHA to fast-track the <strong data-start=\"1119\" data-end=\"1150\">Sialkot-Rawalpindi Motorway<\/strong>, highlighting that this strategic link will ease congestion on the M-2 motorway and significantly improve travel between <strong data-start=\"1272\" data-end=\"1282\">Lahore<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1287\" data-end=\"1300\">Islamabad<\/strong>.
