Islamabad : The Foreign Office (FO) has stated that Pakistan is maintaining active diplomatic engagement with both the United States and Iran, with the objective of promoting peace, stability, and constructive relations in the region and beyond.<\/p>\n

During the weekly media briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, FO Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi emphasized that diplomatic channels remain fully operational, adding that the \u201cprocess of diplomacy is ongoing and remains highly active.\u201d He further noted that Pakistan ensures transparency, clarity, and full sincerity when conveying any official message through diplomatic means to concerned parties.<\/p>\n

He also expressed optimism that tensions between Washington and Tehran could be eased through dialogue, reiterating Pakistan\u2019s support for direct negotiations and its hope for improved and stable relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n

On regional security, the spokesperson strongly condemned what he described as unprovoked firing and shelling by Afghan forces along border areas in South Waziristan, including regions near Bannu and Angoor Adda.<\/p>\n

He said that necessary measures are being taken to ensure the protection of civilians and to prevent any further escalation along the border.<\/p>\n

Responding to a question on Kashmir, Tahir Andrabi voiced concern over the continued detention of Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik and the re-arrest along with ongoing legal proceedings against veteran leader Shabbir Ahmed Shah in a long-running case.<\/p>\n

He urged the international community to take serious notice of the situation and called on India to release Shabbir Shah, Yasin Malik, and other political detainees held for advocating human rights and political freedoms.<\/p>\n

The FO spokesperson also condemned the reported sealing and closure of Jamia Siraj-ul-Uloom in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), stating that such actions are part of a broader pattern aimed at undermining the cultural, social, and religious identity of Kashmiris.<\/p>\n

He further remarked that these developments reflect a growing trend of Islamophobia in the region and across India, which he linked to what he described as an increasingly far-right Hindutva-driven ideology.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
