Karachi : Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Monday that Pakistan has consistently faced difficult times with resilience and continues to remain firm in protecting its sovereignty.<\/p>\n

He expressed these views while addressing the Marka-e-Haq anniversary ceremony held in Karachi.<\/p>\n

In his speech, Bilawal said the country had recently gone through a phase of uncertainty but managed to overcome it through national unity and collective strength. He added that around a year ago, Pakistan was in a tense regional environment where fears of escalation and border tensions had increased concerns.<\/p>\n

However, he noted that Pakistan maintained its stability and responded with unity, crediting the nation\u2019s cohesion during challenging circumstances.<\/p>\n

The PPP chairman said that since 1947, Pakistan\u2019s journey has been defined by sacrifices and continuous struggle. He added that recent achievements were not only due to military capability but also reflected the courage, patience, and determination of the Pakistani people.<\/p>\n

He highlighted unity across all regions of the country, from the north to the coastal areas, and from Punjab to Sindh and Balochistan, while praising the armed forces for their professionalism and strong defence of the nation.<\/p>\n

Bilawal also appreciated Pakistan\u2019s diplomatic efforts, saying the country\u2019s stance had been effectively presented on international forums.<\/p>\n

He reiterated that Pakistan has always chosen peace over confrontation but would never allow compromise on its sovereignty. He also accused certain external elements of attempting to distort historical realities and influence narratives.<\/p>\n

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, speaking at the same event, said Pakistan responded decisively during last year\u2019s escalation with India. He claimed that Pakistani forces shot down enemy aircraft, including Rafale jets, and stated that the Pakistan Navy remained fully vigilant during the situation. He also rejected Indian media claims regarding attacks on Karachi Port, calling them propaganda.<\/p>\n

Referring to defence development, he said Pakistan\u2019s nuclear programme was initiated under Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in 1972 and further strengthened during Benazir Bhutto\u2019s leadership.<\/p>\n

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon also addressed the ceremony, calling it a moment of national pride. He said the armed forces gave a strong response to the opposing side and credited PPP leadership for contributing to the country\u2019s strategic capabilities.<\/p>\n

He added that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had effectively highlighted the Kashmir issue at international platforms.<\/p>\n

The leaders referred to the April\u2013May 2025 tensions between Pakistan and India following the Pahalgam incident, which led to heightened military and diplomatic friction before both sides agreed to a ceasefire on May 10, 2025 through international mediation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
