Rawalpindi : Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has warned that any future misadventure against Pakistan would face severe, far-reaching and painful consequences.<\/p>\n

He was addressing a ceremony at the General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi, marking one year of Pakistan\u2019s victory in Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.<\/p>\n

The army chief said Pakistan, along with its armed forces and people, achieved a \u201cdecisive and historic victory\u201d in what he described as a clash of ideologies, adding that truth ultimately prevailed over falsehood.<\/p>\n

Field Marshal Munir stated that India had attempted to shift the regional balance through military pressure and diplomatic isolation of Pakistan, but said such ambitions were unrealistic and would never succeed.<\/p>\n

He claimed that India suffered significant human and material losses during the conflict, consequences of which, he said, would continue for years. He also said Pakistan\u2019s Fatah missiles and Pakistan Air Force assets successfully struck multiple enemy military installations.<\/p>\n

Reaffirming national defence readiness, he said Pakistan\u2019s security remains fully capable of countering any external aggression. He paid tribute to martyrs of the conflict, including civilians, women, children and the elderly, saying their sacrifices were honoured by the entire nation.<\/p>\n

The COAS said Pakistan treats the sacrifices of martyrs as a sacred trust and reiterated that no compromise would ever be made on sovereignty, territorial integrity and national dignity.<\/p>\n

Highlighting modern warfare trends, he noted that future conflicts would involve multi-domain operations including cyber warfare, drones, long-range systems and artificial intelligence. He added that a Defence Forces Headquarters has been established to adapt to these evolving challenges.<\/p>\n

He also highlighted diplomatic developments, including Pakistan\u2019s defence cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia, describing it as a major milestone. He said Pakistan is also playing a responsible role in facilitating peace negotiations internationally.<\/p>\n

On regional security, he alleged that India was resorting to proxy tactics and urged Afghanistan to eliminate terrorist sanctuaries operating from its territory. He praised the sacrifices of security forces and civilians in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan in the fight against terrorism.<\/p>\n

Field Marshal Munir vowed that those responsible for attacks on Pakistani citizens would be held accountable and reiterated that counter-terrorism operations would continue until the elimination of the last militant.<\/p>\n

He reaffirmed Pakistan\u2019s continued political, diplomatic and moral support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, and said the country\u2019s future remains bright and secure under the guidance of its founding vision.<\/p>\n
