Kabul : The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has raised serious concerns over the deteriorating humanitarian and human rights conditions in the country, citing continued restrictions under the Taliban administration and widespread limitations on basic freedoms.<\/p>\n

In its latest report, UNAMA stated that strict curbs on Afghan women remain in place, particularly affecting access to education, employment opportunities, and freedom of movement. It noted that these restrictions have now persisted for five years since their enforcement.<\/p>\n

The mission also questioned the Taliban\u2019s repeated claims of a general amnesty, stating that individuals associated with the former Afghan security forces are still being targeted. According to the report, 23 former personnel have been detained, nine have reportedly been subjected to severe torture, and five have been killed.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, UNAMA highlighted ongoing tight controls over the media landscape, saying press freedom remains heavily restricted.
