Washington : United States Secretary of War Pete Hegseth<\/span><\/span> has praised Pakistan\u2019s role in regional diplomacy, crediting its efforts toward easing tensions, particularly amid recent developments involving Iran.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, he highlighted the contributions of Pakistan\u2019s top leadership, including Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir<\/span><\/span> and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif<\/span><\/span>, in supporting peace and stability initiatives in the region.<\/p>\n

He described emerging US\u2013Pakistan relations as an \u201cunexpected development,\u201d noting what he called a positive shift and growing cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n
