Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore on Saturday, where they reviewed the country\u2019s law and order situation and the overall internal security landscape in detail.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the interior minister briefed the Prime Minister on ongoing efforts and policy measures aimed at ensuring stability, strengthening public safety, and improving protection mechanisms for citizens across the country.<\/p>\n

Mohsin Naqvi also informed the Prime Minister about his upcoming visit to Tehran and sought guidance regarding the trip.<\/p>\n

He further shared details of his key diplomatic and official engagements during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference held in Kyrgyzstan.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need for close institutional coordination and reiterated that a unified and comprehensive strategy among all relevant departments is essential to further improve law and order and enhance the effectiveness of the national security framework.<\/p>\n

Separately, diplomatic sources said Pakistan has intensified efforts to play a mediating role in easing rising tensions between the United States and Iran.<\/p>\n

According to sources, Mohsin Naqvi is scheduled to depart for Tehran on an official visit on Saturday, marking his third trip to Iran this year.<\/p>\n

During his visit, he is expected to hold high-level meetings with Iranian leadership, including the President, Speaker of Parliament, and Foreign Minister, focusing on bilateral relations and regional developments amid escalating Washington-Tehran tensions.<\/p>\n

It is also noted that earlier talks between Iran and the United States held in Islamabad ended without any agreement, although diplomatic efforts are continuing with a draft memorandum of understanding reportedly under consideration.<\/p>\n

In related diplomatic outreach, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir has also reportedly visited Tehran multiple times in recent months for consultations aimed at regional stability and coordination.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
