Gilgit: A coalition government between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is likely to take shape in Gilgit-Baltistan following the recent general elections in the region.<\/p>\n

The Pakistan Peoples Party has emerged as the largest party in the elections, prompting intensified political activity and negotiations for government formation.<\/p>\n

According to sources, the proposed alliance is expected to mirror the previous PDM-style coalition at the federal level, with both parties having reportedly agreed on a power-sharing formula.<\/p>\n

Under the proposed arrangement, the PPP is expected to secure around 60 percent of ministerial portfolios, while the PML-N may receive 40 percent, in line with PPP\u2019s position as the leading party in the region.<\/p>\n

The chief minister\u2019s office is likely to be held by the PPP, while the PML-N is expected to be allotted key ministries along with possible consideration for the Speaker or Governor positions. However, final decisions are still under discussion.<\/p>\n
