Islamabad:<\/strong> Pakistan and China have agreed to further strengthen cooperation on immigration management, border security and institutional coordination, reaffirming their shared commitment to tackling illegal immigration, arms smuggling and other cross-border crimes through closer collaboration.<\/p>\n

The understanding was reached during a meeting between Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry and a Chinese delegation led by Qi Jingyang<\/strong>, Director General of China’s National Immigration Administration.<\/p>\n

During the discussions, the two sides agreed to expedite a bilateral agreement designed to streamline immigration procedures and improve the efficiency of processing related matters. They also decided to establish a Pakistan-China Joint Working Group<\/strong> to enhance cooperation on border management, security coordination and operational matters.<\/p>\n

Addressing the meeting, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan and China would broaden cooperation in land border management, seaport security and immigration administration to strengthen border controls.<\/p>\n

He reiterated that Pakistan is pursuing a strict zero-tolerance policy against illegal immigration, unlawful border crossings and smuggling, adding that law enforcement agencies are taking firm action against all those involved in such activities without discrimination.<\/p>\n

Naqvi also announced that a Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts<\/strong> checkpoint would be established at the Khunjerab Pass<\/strong> to reinforce security at the strategically important border crossing between Pakistan and China.<\/p>\n

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said both countries were committed to expanding bilateral cooperation to effectively combat illegal immigration and transnational criminal networks.<\/p>\n

The visiting Chinese delegation commended Pakistan’s efforts to curb illegal border crossings and smuggling, describing the country’s measures as effective and encouraging.<\/p>\n

Director General Qi Jingyang reaffirmed that Pakistan and China enjoy an enduring strategic partnership and said Beijing remains committed to strengthening cooperation with Islamabad. He added that China would continue supporting Pakistan in enhancing institutional capacity in immigration management and border security.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the Chinese delegation also conveyed an invitation from China’s Minister of Public Security to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to attend the upcoming Public Security Forum<\/strong>. A separate invitation was extended to a delegation from Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)<\/strong> to participate in the event.<\/p>\n

The Chinese ambassador informed the participants that a group of Pakistani police officers will travel to China later this month for specialised professional training. He also said Chinese language instructors are currently training personnel of Pakistan’s Special Protection Unit (SPU)<\/strong> to improve communication skills and operational coordination.<\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, the Interior Secretary, the Director General of the FIA, the Director General of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad and the Inspector General of Islamabad Police.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
