Washington: US President Donald Trump has said that his administration\u2019s preferred option is to resolve outstanding issues with Iran through a diplomatic agreement, but warned that the United States would take further action if a deal cannot be reached.<\/p>\n

In a telephone interview with Fox News, Trump said Washington would not allow Iran to continue violating agreements and stressed that the United States would maintain a firm position in dealing with Tehran.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy priority is to resolve the issue with Iran through an agreement,\u201d Trump said, adding that diplomacy remained the preferred path to address tensions between the two countries. However, he stated that if negotiations fail to produce a settlement, the United States would proceed with what he described as completing its \u201cmission.\u201d<\/p>\n

The US president said he would prefer to avoid targeting Iran\u2019s energy facilities, power plants, and bridges, indicating that such steps were not his first choice. At the same time, he claimed that the United States holds a much stronger position compared to Iran.<\/p>\n

Trump also claimed that Iran had agreed not to develop nuclear weapons, while making further assertions about US influence in the region. He said the Strait of Hormuz is under American control rather than Iranian control.<\/p>\n

During the interview, Trump also spoke about US support for Israel, claiming that if he had not become president, Israel would not exist today.<\/p>\n

His remarks come amid continued tensions between Washington and Tehran, with both sides facing longstanding disagreements over Iran\u2019s nuclear programme, regional activities, and broader security issues.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
