Washington :<\/strong> US President Donald Trump has expressed support for the newly concluded defence pact between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and T\u00fcrkiye, calling the trilateral arrangement an encouraging development that could contribute to stronger security coordination across the region.<\/p>\n

In a message posted on his Truth Social account on Sunday, Trump welcomed the signing of what he referred to as the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement. He said he was pleased that the three countries had moved forward with the agreement, which he viewed as a sign of closer cooperation among regional states.<\/p>\n

Trump said the emerging partnership demonstrated that countries in the Middle East were moving towards greater collective coordination and strengthening their capacity to safeguard their own security interests. He characterised the agreement as a \u201cBIG, BOLD, IMPORTANT FIRST STEP\u201d towards deeper regional cooperation.<\/p>\n

Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and T\u00fcrkiye finalised the trilateral defence agreement on August 7 amid continuing tensions involving the United States and Iran, which have contributed to heightened instability across the wider region. The broader security situation has also been affected by attacks carried out by Houthi rebels.<\/p>\n

Under the terms of the agreement, the three signatories aim to strengthen their joint deterrence and defence capabilities through closer military cooperation. A key provision of the pact states that an armed attack against any one of the three countries would be treated as an attack on all members of the agreement.<\/p>\n

The arrangement marks a significant step in the defence relationship among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and T\u00fcrkiye and could pave the way for increased strategic coordination among the three countries in response to emerging regional security challenges.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
