Karachi :<\/strong> Global credit rating agency Moody\u2019s has raised Pakistan\u2019s sovereign credit rating from Caa1 to B3<\/strong>, while maintaining the country\u2019s outlook at stable<\/strong>, in a development being viewed as a positive sign for the national economy.<\/p>\n

Finance Minister\u2019s Adviser Khurram Schehzad<\/strong> announced the rating upgrade in a post on X, saying the decision reflects growing international confidence in Pakistan\u2019s economic performance and its ability to meet its financial and debt obligations.<\/p>\n

Schehzad described the move to the B3 rating<\/strong> as an important achievement in Pakistan\u2019s efforts to strengthen its economic position, revive sustainable growth and improve overall financial stability.<\/p>\n

He said Moody\u2019s latest assessment also acknowledges the progress Pakistan has made in improving its broader economic and financial conditions. According to him, the upgraded rating indicates that the country\u2019s economic position is showing signs of improvement compared with the period when it was rated Caa1.<\/p>\n

The adviser further said that a better sovereign credit rating could help improve the confidence of international investors in Pakistan\u2019s economy. It may also support the country\u2019s efforts to regain stronger access to international financial markets and attract additional investment.<\/p>\n

Schehzad termed Moody\u2019s decision a significant positive development for Pakistan, saying the upgrade represents another step in the government\u2019s ongoing efforts to stabilise the economy and strengthen the country\u2019s financial standing internationally.<\/p>\n

He expressed optimism that continued economic reforms and improvements in financial management would help Pakistan build on the progress reflected in the latest rating decision.<\/p>\n

The stable outlook maintained by Moody\u2019s also indicates that the rating agency does not currently expect a major change in Pakistan\u2019s credit position in the near term, provided economic and financial conditions remain on the current trajectory.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
