Strengthening Strategic Ties with Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a high-level meeting with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Makkah al-Mukarramah, reaffirming the deep-rooted brotherhood and strategic partnership between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Prime Minister, accompanied by key cabinet members and Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, extended Eid greetings to the Saudi leadership and praised their outstanding arrangements for pilgrims performing Hajj.

The leaders expressed mutual appreciation for the strong and enduring relationship between the two nations, rooted in shared faith, values, and mutual respect.

They also reviewed recent developments in regional and international affairs, focusing on security and peace efforts.

Enhancing Bilateral Cooperation

Prime Minister Sharif voiced satisfaction over the growing momentum in bilateral cooperation, particularly in political, economic, and security sectors.

Both sides emphasized the need to continue working closely to expand mutual investments, trade opportunities, and defense collaboration.

The leadership reaffirmed their intent to elevate the relationship into a long-term strategic partnership reflecting the aspirations of both nations.

Regional Peace and Global Responsibility

Discussing regional tensions, the Prime Minister appreciated Saudi Arabia’s balanced role during recent India-Pakistan strains and reaffirmed Pakistan’s policy of restraint and dialogue.

The two leaders also held in-depth discussions on the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, urging the international community to uphold its responsibilities.

They reiterated unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, in line with the Arab Peace Initiative and UN resolutions.

Before concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended a formal invitation to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for an official visit to Pakistan. The Crown Prince accepted the invitation, signaling a promising chapter ahead for Pakistan-Saudi relations.
