Lahore: It has been 46 years since the legendary folk singer Alam Lohar left this world, but his magical voice and the distinctive sound of his chimta continue to echo in the hearts of folk music lovers.
Born in a small village near Gujrat, Alam Lohar breathed new life into Punjabi folk music, with songs like “Jugni” earning him international fame. His music tells the story of Punjab’s rich culture and history, captivating generations even today.
Though he passed away suddenly in 1979, his music remains a beacon of light in every gathering.
