Rawalpindi : Security forces have killed 17 India-backed terrorists during a series of intelligence-based operations conducted in different areas of Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Tuesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces carried out multiple intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Mastung, Nushki, Zehri, Khuzdar and Kech districts of Balochistan following the train incident that occurred on May 24.
During the operations, security forces effectively targeted several terrorist hideouts. Intense exchanges of fire resulted in the killing of 17 terrorists belonging to what the statement described as “Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Hindustan,” inflicting a significant blow to terrorist networks operating in the region.
The ISPR further stated that weapons, ammunition, and a large cache of explosives along with prepared improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered from the possession of the killed terrorists, who were reportedly involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area.
The military’s media wing added that sanitisation operations are ongoing to clear remaining threats from the region. It said that the counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
