ISLAMABAD: A high-profile Pakistani delegation, led by former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, has arrived in Washington following a two-day visit to the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The visit was part of Pakistan’s strategic diplomatic campaign to present its viewpoint on rising tensions with India and to counter New Delhi’s increasing lobbying efforts in the United States.
The delegation included key political figures such as Senator Rehman, former Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, Dr. Musadik Malik, Engineer Khurram Dastgir, Faisal Subzwari, Tehmina Janjua, Senator Bushra Anjum Butt, and Jalil Abbas Jilani.

Highlighting Pakistan’s Position at the UN
During the visit to New York, the delegation brought global attention to India’s alleged illegal use of force, violations of international law, and targeting of civilian areas in Kashmir, including the killing of innocent women and children.
Pakistan also firmly rejected India’s accusations regarding the April 22 attack in Indian-administered Kashmir, emphasizing the lack of evidence.
The delegation warned against India’s unilateral suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT), calling it a breach of international obligations.

Meetings were held with senior UN officials, Security Council members, OIC ambassadors, media representatives, think tanks, civil society groups, and the Pakistani diaspora.
The delegation highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to combating terrorism, pointing out Indian-sponsored terrorism and cross-border assassination campaigns, urging for cooperation rather than politicization in counter-terrorism efforts.
Calls for Peace and International Support
Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari underscored the importance of intelligence cooperation between Pakistan’s ISI and India’s RAW to effectively combat terrorism in South Asia.
He also warned that despite a recent ceasefire, the risk of conflict between nuclear-armed neighbors remains high without sustained international engagement.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts, noting the global recognition of Pakistan’s stance during the period of heightened tensions, particularly highlighting support from Turkey and Azerbaijan.

Dar said that India’s regional dominance has been challenged, while Pakistan’s narrative and actions have earned widespread international praise.
In related developments, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi held talks with a senior Russian foreign policy aide, briefing him on the recent escalation with India and Pakistan’s position on issues such as the IWT.
The meetings and engagements in Moscow were described as highly successful, reflecting growing Pakistan-Russia cooperation in trade, energy, and connectivity.
