ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended heartfelt congratulations to the Pakistani nation and the global Muslim Ummah on the arrival of the new Islamic year, 1447 Hijri, with prayers for peace, prosperity, and stability.
President Zardari, in his message, emphasized the spiritual importance of Muharram, one of the sacred months in the Islamic calendar.
He reminded the nation that Islam strictly prohibits conflict and disunity during this month.

He further stated that the legacy of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and the spirit of Karbala should inspire national unity and help overcome sectarian divides.
