Islamabad — In a decisive verdict dated June 27, 2025, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has reinstated 74 previously suspended seats held by PTI candidates across national and provincial assemblies. The Election Commission promptly restored 19 National Assembly seats, along with 27 in Punjab, 25 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 3 in Sindh, signaling a potential shift in the balance of power within Pakistan’s legislatures.
The court also invalidated prior notifications from July 2024 concerning PTI members’ returns, paving the way for enhanced representation of PML-N, PPP, and JUI on reserved seats and setting the stage for a new political equation.
