Karachi: The recent torrential rains in Karachi have caused a major disruption in the city’s electricity supply, leaving thousands of residents facing severe difficulties. According to K-Electric, nearly 900 feeders have been shut down in the aftermath of the heavy downpour.
The power outage has affected several key areas including Baldia Town, Bin Qasim, Defence, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Johar, Korangi, Orangi, and other neighborhoods across the city.
A spokesperson for K-Electric stated that electricity was disconnected in low-lying and vulnerable areas as a precautionary measure to prevent any accidents. Efforts are currently underway by K-Electric and relevant authorities to restore the power supply as soon as possible.
Citizens have urged the authorities for swift restoration of electricity, while officials have assured that the situation is being closely monitored and power will be reinstated once the conditions improve.
