Islamabad: Pakistan’s Armed Forces today paid homage to Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas (Nishan-e-Haider) on his 54th martyrdom anniversary. According to a statement by ISPR, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu honored Rashid Minhas as a national hero and praised his supreme sacrifice.
On August 20, 1971, Rashid Minhas gave his life for the protection of his country’s sovereignty. His dedication, loyalty, and patriotism are regarded as a shining example not only for the Armed Forces but for the entire nation.
ISPR stated that Rashid Minhas’s bravery reminds us of the price of freedom and the importance of courage in defending the homeland. His martyrdom defeated the enemy’s nefarious designs and inscribed an unforgettable chapter in the history of the Pakistan Air Force.
The Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to always remember and honor those who sacrifice their lives for the country’s security, paying tribute to their invaluable sacrifice.
