The government has ramped up its efforts at the parliamentary level to seek approval for the 27th Constitutional Amendment. National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will convene a meeting of all parliamentary leaders today at the Speaker’s House.
Leaders from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) have also been invited to attend the meeting. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has entrusted the Speaker with the important task of building consensus through the meeting.
According to sources, the meeting will focus on developing a strategy and ensuring political coordination for the approval of the constitutional amendment, with the goal of securing a unanimous decision in Parliament.
