The 11th National Finance Commission (NFC) meeting, chaired by Federal Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb, was held with the participation of finance ministers from all four provinces, private members, as well as special attendance by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
During the meeting, it was decided to establish 6 to 7 working groups for the resolution of NFC matters. A separate group will be formed to address issues related to the former FATA (Federally Administered Tribal Areas), and another will be focused on tax matters with the provinces.
All working groups of the NFC will be notified within two days. The schedule for future meetings and the timeline for the NFC award were also finalized. The next meeting is scheduled for either January 8 or 18, during which final decisions will be made.
