Doha : Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on Tuesday during his official visit to Doha, highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its longstanding partnership with the Gulf nation.
The leaders reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of political ties. Both emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation across all areas of mutual interest and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the fraternal relationship.
Sheikh Tamim underscored Qatar’s intention to elevate economic collaboration with Pakistan to a strategic level. Discussions focused on translating strong political relations into concrete economic initiatives, enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation, and addressing regional and international developments of shared concern.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, were present during the talks.
After the meeting, PM Shehbaz Sharif shared on X that the discussions had been warm and constructive, focusing on advancing brotherly relations and reinforcing economic ties. He also extended an invitation to the Emir to visit Pakistan, which was accepted, with the visit expected later this year.
