Rawalpindi : Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Naval Staff Naveed Ashraf, and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu paid tribute to the bravery, professionalism, and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces personnel on the seventh anniversary of Operation Swift Retort.
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations said the operation, carried out on February 27, 2019, was a firm response to what it described as India’s unprovoked aggression, reinforcing Pakistan’s resolve to defend its sovereignty. The statement highlighted that the action demonstrated the Armed Forces’ operational capability and preparedness, successfully deterring further escalation and restoring strategic equilibrium in the region.
The military leadership reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s national interests and promoting regional stability. They emphasized that the Armed Forces remain fully alert and prepared to counter any threat, while continuing efforts to contribute to peace and security at both regional and global levels.
