Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed authorities to ensure the safe return of Pakistani citizens stranded in Iran, directing that they be evacuated via Azerbaijan.
The directive came during a high-level meeting on national security, where the Prime Minister was briefed on the current situation. Officials informed him that all security agencies are on high alert and that necessary measures are being implemented to safeguard the country.
The Prime Minister emphasized that both the people and the armed forces are fully prepared to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. He praised the armed forces for carrying out their duties efficiently under field leadership.
He further ordered that all steps be taken to facilitate the safe repatriation of Pakistanis from Iran and directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to immediately coordinate with the Azerbaijani government to ensure comprehensive safety measures are in place.
