Japan lauds Pakistan’s diplomatic role in US-Iran ceasefire, talks

Islamabad : Japan has commended Pakistan for its diplomatic efforts in helping advance a ceasefire and encouraging dialogue between the United States and Iran.

The acknowledgment came during a phone call between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.

In their discussion, both leaders reflected on the recent talks held in Islamabad, where Pakistan facilitated engagement between US and Iranian representatives.

Sanae Takaichi voiced Japan’s backing for continued peace initiatives, noting their importance for regional balance and the stability of global energy supplies.

Shehbaz Sharif welcomed Japan’s positive remarks and emphasized that Pakistan values the ongoing interaction between Washington and Tehran, reaffirming its commitment to supporting efforts that uphold the ceasefire.

The conversation also highlighted a shared intention to further strengthen ties between Pakistan and Japan, with both sides agreeing to broaden cooperation across different sectors and remain in close contact moving forward.
