PPP, PML-N form alliance to contest upcoming by-elections

Islamabad :  In a significant political development, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have agreed to join forces for the upcoming by-elections. The two major opposition parties have finalized a strategy to contest the elections collaboratively, aiming to consolidate their positions and avoid vote splitting.

According to insiders, both parties have agreed on seat adjustments, allowing each to field candidates in constituencies where they have a stronger foothold, while the other party will provide full support to those candidates. This move is expected to strengthen their chances against rival political factions.

Senior PPP leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf welcomed the delegation from PML-N and confirmed that extensive discussions took place regarding the upcoming by-elections. He emphasized that the joint effort is designed to ensure a united front in the electoral process.

Federal Minister Hanif Abbasi also expressed optimism about the alliance, stating that this cooperation reflects a shared commitment to democratic stability and mutual support in the political arena. He noted that the formula was agreed upon after thorough consultations between the top leadership of both parties.

Political analysts view this alliance as a strategic move to enhance electoral competitiveness and create a more balanced playing field in the forthcoming polls.
