Arshad Nadeem Gears Up for Asian Athletics Championships After Olympic Glory

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s javelin sensation Arshad Nadeem is set to compete in the upcoming Asian Athletics Championships in South Korea, marking his first major international event since his historic triumph at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

With more than 2,000 athletes from 43 countries expected to participate, the championship promises to be a competitive stage for the continent’s top athletes.

First International Competition Since Paris

Arshad announced on his Instagram Stories that he will be competing in the qualification round on the morning of May 30 at 6:15 a.m. Pakistan Time.

The talented thrower requested prayers and support from his fans as he aims to advance to the final round. The finals are scheduled for May 31 at 1:10 p.m. PKT, where he hopes to add another medal to his growing collection and continue his streak of making Pakistan proud on the global stage.

Last August, Arshad created history by winning the men’s javelin gold at the Paris Olympics, setting a new Olympic record with a throw of 92.97 meters.

This landmark achievement was the first Olympic gold medal for Pakistan in athletics, catapulting Arshad into the spotlight and inspiring a new generation of athletes in the country.

Future Plans and Training Ahead

Following the Asian Athletics Championships, Arshad is preparing to head to England for further training as he sets his sights on the World Athletics Championships scheduled for September.
