Brussels: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said that true political reconciliation is only possible when individuals approach the process with sincerity and humility. “Those who have the courage to seek forgiveness are angelic in nature, while those who stubbornly refuse to do so embody the traits of arrogance and division,” he stated.
He made these remarks during a private discussion with a well-known columnist at an exclusive event, where he also addressed the growing rumors surrounding potential shifts in power. According to him, those who criticize both the government and the establishment under the pretense of change are not genuinely interested in national progress or stability.
“As guardian of this nation, a responsibility entrusted to me by the Almighty, I seek no position or title,” Munir said. “My only mission is to serve the people of Pakistan and safeguard the country’s stability.”
Touching on the political discourse around transitions of power, the Field Marshal stressed that lasting peace cannot be achieved through confrontation or defiance. “If change is to come, it must be rooted in honest dialogue, forgiveness, and a commitment to national unity—not personal agendas.”
He concluded by reiterating that political harmony demands a willingness to put aside ego for the greater good of the country.
