Colombian President Gustavo Petro called for an emergency session of the UN Security Council, stressing the urgency of addressing the rapidly developing situation. He warned that the growing tensions could destabilize the region and threaten global peace if left unchecked.
Cuba strongly condemned the US actions, labeling them an act of “state terrorism” and urging the international community to resist what it sees as a violation of international norms.
Similar condemnations came from Iran, Russia, and China, all of which rejected the military strikes and reaffirmed their commitment to Venezuela’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry described the operation as a significant breach of Venezuela’s sovereignty and an infringement on its territorial integrity, condemning the move in the harshest possible terms.
