From Crisis to Confidence: PM Shehbaz Empowers Youth at Uraan Scholars Forum

ISLAMABAD – In a room filled with ambition, energy, and the nation’s brightest young minds, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif delivered more than just a speech — he offered a challenge and a promise.

Addressing participants of the Uraan Pakistan Summer Scholars program, the Prime Minister described the cohort as a “galaxy of future leaders” and called the initiative a bold step toward building a modern, capable state led by merit and performance.

“You are not just students — you are the future architects of governance, of justice, of national resilience,” he told the scholars, who were selected from top universities across Pakistan.

Reflecting on his early days in office, Shehbaz Sharif didn’t shy away from recounting the harsh economic reality Pakistan faced in 2023.

“The fear of default loomed. The pressure was real. But with faith, resolve, and relentless teamwork — we turned a collapse into a comeback.”

He spoke of institutional reforms, eliminating corruption from the Federal Board of Revenue, and reshaping public administration through accountability and professionalism.

“Performance is no longer a choice — it defines who we are. Only those who deliver for the people will shape the future of this nation.”

The Uraan Pakistan program, he added, was designed not just to inform but to immerse young minds in real policy environments —“Giving them a front-row seat to the workings of government — and a blueprint for how it should be.
This is transformation in action, beginning with you.”PM Shehbaz concluded with a message of hope, grounded in responsibility:

“Investing in youth isn’t charity. It’s strategy. And our future depends on how well we do it.”
