Lahore: Director General of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Irfan Ali Kathia, has informed that a warning has been received regarding water release from India at Harike. The alert has been promptly shared with the concerned district administrations and relevant agencies.
He further reported that Bhakra Dam is currently at full capacity, while there are reports of a breach at a dam site on the Sutlej River. As a result, water is flowing rapidly downstream past the Sulemanki area, raising the risk of flooding in low-lying regions.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and coordinating preparedness measures to mitigate potential impacts on vulnerable communities.
