Stalled talks between Pakistan and Afghan taliban resume in Istanbul

Islamabad:  Negotiations between Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban, which had been stalled, have now resumed. According to sources, the talks are ongoing in Istanbul, Turkey, in the presence of international mediators.

Pakistan, at the request of the mediator, has decided to revive negotiations with the Taliban government and give the peace process another chance. To facilitate this, the Pakistani delegation has extended its stay in Istanbul.

Sources reveal that the previous round of talks lasted for four days, but no conclusive outcome was reached due to the Taliban’s inflexible stance.

However, in the current discussions, both sides have shown a willingness to reduce differences and enhance cooperation.

Analysts believe that the resumption of talks between Pakistan and the Taliban government marks a significant step forward for regional peace, border cooperation, and the improvement of bilateral relations.
