Lahore:The proceedings against 26 suspended members of the Punjab Assembly have commenced. The Speaker has granted them a personal hearing scheduled for July 11. In protest, the opposition has set up a symbolic “Real Assembly” outside the official premises, electing Ijaz Shafi as their Speaker.
Police have tightened security arrangements. Additionally, the opposition has passed a resolution condemning the government’s expensive advertising campaign and lavish expenditures.
