Islamabad: The Power Division has instructed electricity distribution companies (DISCOs) across the country to ensure continuous electricity supply during heavy rains and floods.
To tackle the ongoing flood situation nationwide, the Power Division has issued an emergency alert to all DISCOs, emphasizing the importance of maintaining uninterrupted power delivery throughout the adverse weather conditions.
The division has directed special measures to protect the electrical infrastructure during the floods, including immediate steps to secure substations, feeders, and control rooms.
The alert further states that operational teams must remain on high alert and be ready to respond to any emergency situations promptly.
A Flood Monitoring Cell has been established within the Power Division, and DISCOs have been ordered to submit status reports twice daily.
Considering the critical and urgent nature of the matter, the Power Division has also instructed DISCOs to maintain close coordination with local disaster management authorities.
